Birthday fun with Filled With Fun stamps & dies

Hello & welcome to my blog,

My name is Alison & I live in beautiful Melbourne, Australia. For those of you who have previously visited my blog & are now returning, thank you. For those of you who are here for the first time, welcome!

Here's a little bit about me. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. I blog twice a week, once on a Sunday where I mainly showcase a stamp set or dies, embossing folders, projects & sometimes special DSP and Wednesday evenings when I highlight a technique, fun folds or tools & tips. I would love to hear from you if you have any questions or suggestions & my email address for that is craftedbyalison@gmail.com.

Stampin' Up® 's Annual Catalogue was released last year with a very different format & it's a beauty! It's set out quite differently to previous catalogues but there are benefits to that. They now have sectioned it to have beginners, which is a step by step collection of materials in kits, then there is quick & easy where you select base materials & packs of pre-printed or diecut materials plus some stamp sets then there is create your way where you choose all the materials, stamps etc yourself & create your way! In the quick & easy section Stampin' Up® have also provided some inspiration with a colour wheel & information of various ways to use colour combinations. I explored this in a bit more detail in my 1/1/25 mid week blog. The new mini catalogue was launched on January 7th with lots of lovely stamps, dies & papers to ooh & aah over. If you would like a copy of this new catalogue then please contact me at craftedbyalison@gmail.com. Stampin' Up® also have products available only online. These are called Online exclusives & have no end date, when the stock is sold out, that's the end of it.

Today I have created a birthday set using the Filled With Fun stamps & dies plus a plain party paper bag available from any party shop or $2 style shop. The card was featured in my 22/1/25 Midweek blog as part of a Colour Challenge. I've also created a card without using the cart from this set. Hope you like them!

Here are the two cards...

and here is the Colour Challenge card with the matching bag...

The bag was very easy to make. I used a plain white party/loot bag available at many $2 style shops. I added two strips of Basic White cardstock at the neck of the bag to reinforce it for when I added the ribbon as well as a strip inside the bag to reinforce the bottom of the bag.
The balloons are stamped in Petuna Pop on Basic White as well as some directly onto the party bag. There are some Petunia Pop ones with silver embossing also. I stamped the ribbons in Memento black directly onto the bag & placed 3 diecut balloons on dimensionals above them.
The holes for the ribbon are punched with a small hand held punch and the ribbon is (retired) Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon which I coloured with Petunia Pop Stampin' Blends.
This is an economical & fun way to create unique items for someone special.
Next up, I wanted to create something different to my previous creations which had all featured the cart in some form. I decided to make a wall of flowers.
This was achieved by adding a matte of Full of Life DSP to a Basic White card base. The paper features 2 strips of colour which was the perfect backdrop for what I had in mind.
Using Memento black, I stamped 2 strips of flowers on Thick Basic White then coloured them with Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia, Balmy Blue, Summer Splash, Lemon Lime Twist, Lemon Lolly & Daffodil Delight Stampin' Write markers. These were diecut & adhered to the back of a strip of Blueberry Bushel cardstock just below the centre of the card. The sentiment is heat embossed in white.

The final touch was to add a few 2024-26 In Colour Shimmer gems.

A very quick & simple card that I think is very pretty.

That's it for this creative episode. I hope you enjoyed seeing these pretty & completely different creations.
