Scrapbook layout #2 with Celebratory Sips Designer Series Papers

 Hello & welcome.

My name is Alison & I live in beautiful Melbourne, Australia.

For those of you who have previously visited my blog & are now returning, thank you. For those of you who are here for the first time, welcome!

Here's a little bit about me. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. I blog twice a week, once on a Sunday where I mainly showcase a stamp set or dies, embossing folders, projects & sometimes special DSP and Wednesday evenings when I highlight a technique, fun folds or tools & tips. I would love to hear from you if you have any questions or suggestions & my email address for that is craftedbyalison@gmail.com.

Today I am sharing a lovely scrapbook page I created for a special day I spent with a very good friend a few years ago. My friend was returning to live in England so we decided to have a day out at the launch of the Brown Bros Prosecco Bottomless Brunch way back in 2019.

The reason I chose this particular day was because I was looking through some scrapbook page ideas & my DSP stash & came across the Celebratory Sips DSP which was perfect for the event PLUS my girlfriend is coming back to Australia to visit her daughter & my husband and I are meeting up with her on the Gold Coast. This will be part catch up & part retirement celebration as I am officially retiring on Wednesday! Pretty excited by it too!! I had a lovely time playing around with the DSP & all of the beautiful bright cardstock colours & hope you enjoy the outcome.

Here are the pages ready for the photos...

and with photo markers for sizings.

I have 7 photos that I want to use in my spread so I divided them between two pages & added 2 areas for journalling.
I cut two strips of DSP for the left & right edges of the pages & then chose cardstock colours based on the colours of the DSP as well as colours that are in my photos.
The colours are:
Lemon Lime Twist
Old Olive
Poppy Parade
Blackberry Bliss
Daffodil Delight
Berry Burst
Timid Tiger
Petunia Pop &
Basic Black which I chose for the photo of my friend and I as the main focus of the spread.

There are also lots of fussy cut pieces that I already had on hand from previous projects so it was just a matter of choosing which ones I liked & adding them at the end to embellish.

The first page has two strips of cardstock across the top - 3cm x 29.7cm of Blackberry Bliss and 3.5cm x 24 cm of Daffodil Delight which is nestled behind picture mattes & a cocktail! Both are tucked under the DSP strip.
The mattes are Old Olive to fit a 10cm x 15cm picture, Poppy Parade to fit a 9cm x 12.5cm photo & Blackberry Bliss to fit another 10cm x 15cm picture. The final matte is Timid Tiger for a 10.5cm x 8cm journalling piece.
Now the images are fussy cut as I mentioned but a couple of them are pieces that are not entire images, from edges for example. I like to use up as much of the gorgeous DSP as I can so I have added 2 beside a matte and at the end of the page and have raised the others on either mini glue dots or dimensionals. There are also a scattering of little tiny flowers that were from the DSP & will tie in nicely with the photos as two of them are of the back of a promotional car that is overflowing with blooms.

The second page has a 3cm x 29.7cm strip of Blackberry Bliss & a 3.5cm x 24 cm strip of Lemon Lime twist at the bottom, tucked under the DSP.
The mattes are a 13.5cm x 13.5cm square Basic Black matte for the main photo, Poppy Parade to fit a 9cm x 12.5cm photo, Daffodil Delight to fit another 9cm x 12.5cm photo & a Timid Tiger matte to fit a 10cm x 15cm matte. The journalling matte this time is smaller to fit a 5cm x 10cm piece.

There is so much colour & a bright, happy vibe about these pages, I can't wait to add the photos to them.

Well, that's if for my layout. I hope you've enjoyed the placement & the colours I used. Now it's time to share some news & information from Stampin' Up®.

Stampin' Up® 's Annual Catalogue was released last year with a very different format & it was a beauty! It was set out quite differently to previous catalogues but there are benefits to that. They now have sectioned it to have beginners, which is a step by step collection of materials in kits, then there is quick & easy where you select base materials & packs of pre-printed or diecut materials plus some stamp sets then there is create your way where you choose all the materials, stamps etc yourself & create your way! In the quick & easy section Stampin' Up® have also provided some inspiration with a colour wheel & information of various ways to use colour combinations. I explored this in a bit more detail in my 1/1/25 mid week blog & also in 30th April blog. The other cool feature is that they provide card sketch ideas for you. This is great for any times that you need a little inspiration.
If you'd like to browse the new catalogue online then click here. If you'd like a copy to hold in your hands, leaf through & put little notes all over it of what's on your wish list then shoot me an email at craftedbyalison@gmail.com or message me on my facebook page at craftedbyalison.
The mini catalogue was launched on January 7th and has now retired so there is only the Annual catalogue & the Online Exclusives until the next Mini catalogue is launched in September which is not that far away!

Stampin' Up® also have loads of additional products available only online. These are called Online exclusives & have no end date, when the stock is sold out, that's the end of it.

Stampin' Up® have a great range of Kits including crafting, card making & gift giving. There were brand new kits added to the collection every month. Click here to check them all out in my online shop. As Stampin' Up® have so many beautiful kits available I usually feature a different kit in each blog so that you can see the range.
This week I decided to do something a little different & feature one of the scrapbooking workshop kits that Stampin' Up® have available. This kit is called Memories in Bloom & seemed perfect as it ties in with the floral element of my own page.

Here's how Stampin' Up® describe it...

Arrange your memories like a beautiful bouquet with the Memories in Bloom Scrapbooking Workshop Kit. The paper, stickers, and precut pieces feature colourful blossoms and lush greenery perfect for any occasion. This sweet kit includes supplies for three two-page spreads to capture memories from Mother’s Day, family reunions, vacations, and more.

If you feel that you need to add this to your list then click here to purchase one from my online store.

If you shop with me then there are some new changes to the rewards program that you should know about. In the past we were able to create a host code & group together individual orders & pass on the 'hostess' benefits to customers with qualifying orders. This has now been replaced with a 'Rewards' program that gives all customers who place an order with a qualifying amount a credit of 10% of their order to use on future orders. This will be displayed during the checkout process or your order. Stampin' Up® feel that this is a fairer way of rewarding all customers.

Lastly, there have been lots of great items added to the clearance rack which is now called Last Chance items so make sure you check them out using this link to my online store.

If you would like to purchase any of my creations that I feature in my blogs they can be found in my FaceBook shop at craftedbyalison or you can order something unique.

I hope you've enjoyed today's post. It's great to create something totally unique to you & this technique allows you to do just that.

That's all I have for you this week.

My next blog is on Wednesday & I look at combining colours with the help of the Colour Coach.

In my next Sunday blog I will be all about flowers with some creations made with the Pretty Florals stamps & dies & will be prepared before I head to sunny Queensland.

I hope you can join me for both of them.
Well, that's it for another week. I hope you enjoyed this post & come back for more.

Til next time, take care & keep creating! XX Alison.
