Hello & welcome to my blog, My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. Today's blog is all about making a simple card or adding to it to create something a little bit more special. I hope you like what I've made! This week I've made some lovely cards using card bases that are free during Sale-A-Bration in July & August. These lovely card bases come in Soft Sea Foam & Pool Party & have a delicate print already on the front. They have matching envelopes also. These have proved so popular that they have all sold out which is very disappointing but none the less I promised to show you some creations using them so here they are.... For the first card I went for a really simple design. I chose Highland Heather as the contrast colour as it beautifully compliments the delicate So

Hello & welcome to my Mid Week blog, I am an independant Stampin' Up® demonstrator with a passion for creating. I have a regular weekly blog on a Sunday that explores different stamp sets, die sets or products sold by Stampin' Up® and my Mid Week blog explores tips, techniques, card sketches, colour challenges & lots of other ideas to help you make the most of your crafting time. There are ideas for 'just starting out' crafters, 'in-betweeners' and more avid crafters.  This week I will show you how to use up some of those little scraps of DSP & cardstock that, if you're like me, you've saved because you don't like to waste. The technique is similar to the Scrappy Strips technique I showed in my Mid Week blog #16 on January 26th 2022 but instead of covering the entire card front this technique makes a pattern with the strips that only covers a part of the base. Here is my feature card.   This card uses different sized scraps of Splendid Da

Today's blog is all about making a simple card or adding to it to create something a little bit more special. I hope you like what I've made! This week I've made some lovely cards using a gorgeous stamp set that is free during Sale-A-Bration in July & August called Hippest Hippos. When you spend $90 on Stampin' Up® products you can get either the stamp set or dies FREE! If you spend $180 you can have them both. They're suitable for kids, animal lovers or big kids at heart.    All of the cards feature at least one of the Hippos from the stamp set & one of the sentiments. They were all stamped with Stazon which is best when water colouring or using alcohol inks then coloured using Stampin' Blend

There are ideas for 'just starting out' crafters, 'in-betweeners' and more avid crafters.  I originally intended to show you how to create a card using scraps or strips of DSP but my plans changed as my daughter had an operation & my plans changed. Using the strips will be featured next week now. Instead, this week is all about using card sketches to inspire new creations. I hope you like this simple card sketch & use it to create something for yourself. If you do, I would love it if you posted a pic on my Facebook page at craftedbyalison. I created 2 cards using the sa

This week I've made some lovely cards using the new Splendid Thoughts stamp set, Splendid dies & Splendid Day DSP. There's quite a few things to share with you today as I joined in an event called Creativity Now that Stampin' Up® held last month & we made 4 gorgeous cards plus I made another one thanks to Nancy Stollnitz Hoetker from Nancy's Nifty Notes who holds free online Mystery Stamping events. Here are my creations with brief info about the materials used..... This is the card that I created with Nancy. On a white card base I added some Soft Sea F

As I was looking to make a range of cards from super simple to fancy I chose the lovely Art Gallery stamp set as it can be used as a spotlight or be added to easily to make it more elaborate. As the new In Colours are so pretty I chose Starry Sky & Orchid Oasis for the bloom & added Pear Pizzazz for the greenery. The card

Hello & welcome to my blog, My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. Today's blog features  a new stamp set, dies & DSP from the 2022-23 Annual catalogue. The colours & designs of the papers are stunning! Unfortunately the papers were a limited edition offering but the cards featured here can be easily adapted to other DSP. There is so much inspiration on Youtube & FaceBook and so many lovely projects to make with this collection so I chose three beautiful card designs that inspired me. Here's the first one..... This design was inspired by Jacquie Williams at StampHappy. It's a very easy card to make. On a Basic White card base I added a matte of Early Espresso then some DSP from Bloom Where You're Planted. I stamped directly onto the DSP with Soft Suede & the

It's quite an easy card to make but I added a couple of changes to mine as I went to make it work better. This is the finished card..... and here are the steps I used when making the card... I started with a half sheet of Night of Navy cardstock cut down in the portrait position & scored in half. For the inside of the card I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock 1cm smaller on both sides for the inside fold of the
