Notes of Nature catalogue CASE'ings

Hello & welcome to my blog,

My name is Alison & I live in beautiful Melbourne, Australia. For those of you who have previously visited my blog & are now returning, thank you. For those of you who are here for the first time, welcome!

Here's a little bit about me. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. I blog twice a week, once on a Sunday where I mainly showcase a stamp set or dies, embossing folders, projects & sometimes special DSP and Wednesday evenings when I highlight a technique, fun folds or tools & tips. I would love to hear from you if you have any questions or suggestions & my email address for that is craftedbyalison@gmail.com.

Stampin' Up® have just launched their new Annual Catalogue & it's a beauty! It's set out quite differently to previous catalogues but there are benefits to that. They now have sectioned it to have beginners, which is a step by step collection of materials in kits, then there is quick & easy where you select base materials & packs of pre-printed or diecut materials plus some stamp sets then there is create your way where you choose all the materials, stamps etc yourself & create your way! In the quick & easy section Stampin' Up® have also provided some inspiration with a colour wheel & information of various ways to use colour combinations. There is a section explaining 4 different ways to vary your colours - Monochromatic, Complementary, Analogous & Triadic. It's a wonderful tool to help with creativity & I shared my first post using it in my midweek blog of 29/5/24 but it's not what this week's post is about, that is something I will explore more in future blogs.

This week's blog showcases a recently retired stamp set & dies called Notes of Nature. It's a beautiful set & one that I didn't get around to featuring when it was still current so here's 2 gorgeous cards that I have CASE'd from the Jan - Apr '24 Mini catalogue. I'm sure you'll fall in love with them too.

Here are the cards from the catalogue...

Now I'll walk you through how I CASE'd them, starting with the golden card on the left.

This gorgeous card was so easy to replicate, with some minor changes. The base under the DSP is Basic White. The DSP comes from the Nature's Sweetness pack which is still available. The front matte is Basic White & I've stamped the Field Notes image & the leafy image in Pebbled Path. The grid pattern image, small foliage & splatter is all stamped in Pool Party. The embellishments are Textured Metallic & Garden Green foliage with some Adhesive Backed Cork Rounds to finish it. Very quick & easy but very pretty.
For the second card I used a few different techniques. I started with a Very Vanilla card base, some Basic White & Pecan Pie cardstock, inks, embossing powder & a water painter.

Firstly I stamped some leaves in Memento Black then water coloured them with Garden Green & Lemon Lime Twist. I stamped the sentiment in Basic Gray on Very Vanilla. I stamped tone on tone for the Pecan Pie circle which was then diecut using the Stylish Shapes dies. The splatter on the card is also Pecan pie & the gold foliage is heat embossed.
Then it was simply a matter of adding each layer with liquid glue, some rolled glue dots & dimensionals. To give some further dimension to the leaves I gently curled some of the larger leaves.

I looove how the colour on the large leaves turned out. The first colour that I painted was Garden Green so that when I went over it with the Lemon Lime Twist it really softened the colour. LOVE. IT!
As there is a lot going on with the background of this card I didn't think it needed any further bling.

That's all I have for you this week. I hope you enjoyed these creations as much as I enjoyed playing around with this bundle.
